Conclusion
The good news about the Kodak EasyShare Z950 is that it's very much a beginners camera with very simple controls and easy to learn functions. I found the camera to not be the quickest camera when it comes to turning on and off but it's still quick at doing all the other functions and that's all that really matters anyway.
For such an inexpensive camera the Kodak EasyShare Z950 featured a very nice lens that allows you an adequate amount of zoom. The camera is also HD video capable and features HDMI connectivity, the camera shoots in 720p resolution.
When it came to the picture taking portion of our tests the Z590 performed really well. It didn't gave good white balance and did well at the higher ISO settings. Be aware that this camera doesn't offer you studio quality photos, it's more of a casual camera that can give you lots of function for not to much money at around $199.99. I can recommend this camera to beginner and casual photographers.
Pros:
- Comfortable shape and rubberized grip
- High quality lens
- Clear, understandable menus
- HD video
- Good ISO performance
Cons:
- Flimsy battery cover
- Sound level too low
- Pokey start and shutdown time
- Colors somewhat bland
- Overexposure
